^ Agreed, wasnt there a movie where they used a BMW that had that stuff on it? They would rob the bank in a black car, park in an alley and rip the vinyl off and viola, blue car.

Wow, that's pretty cheap... cheaper than a decent paint job, and much easier to apply and remove.

The reason the guy didn't get his BRAND FUCKING NEW BMW painted, is that it costs a boatload, like blanco said.

For a rear bumper on a 318ci, it's roughly 1200€ with the paint matched.

Besides, this way he doesn't have to worry about rock chips when driving on the autobahn. I got a chip the other day and it dented the hood, after taking the paint with it.

A lot of guys who autocross and track race here use the vinyl to protect the front bumper and fenders. I asked one guy about it, and he said that he puts on two layers "To protect his baby". (He drives a 2008 M3.)

That being said, I'd rather use the 3M clear vinyl as a protectant, then I can leave it on all the time.

People keep thinking about cheap paint jobs when it comes to pricing out these things

a legit paint job can run you easily 5K+

I think it's this website, just like when people were thinking how B was crazy for spending so much money on a set of wheels.

We're not talking cheap chit here.

the thing is with the printed wraps, anything that can be produced on a large scale printer can be put on a car... in full picture quality... you could NEVER get that kind of detail out of paint for any price
    [IMG]

    anyone remember this car

sorry about the huge pic, but otherwise you dont really see the detail
