metal, unless you can find a lighter composite just for racing. Nascar doesn't use metal, but they are not hurting for cash. Saturn uses composite(some kind of flexible plastic) fenders and doors. I just don't think I'll be finding plastic fenders for my Accord any time soon.
 
if you plan on molding the kit ot the car fiberglass other than that urathan all the way
 
paint doesnt stick as good on urethane then it does fiberglass. but i would pick urethane any day of the week casue it is stronger.
 
when i put the fiberglass side skirts on my CRX they were all twisted and not long enough but since they were fiberglass i just cut em in half molded the 4 pieces on and then molded them back together. The whole kit fir like ass but since it was fiberglass i just cut it up and now you can't even tell. but i've never worked with urethane so i don't know whats better.
