Boosting And Ecus

this might be a hard question to answer but here it is

why does the car run rich is some areas and lean in others because of boost
wouldn't the o2 sensors and mass air (along with all other sensors) determine the amount of fuel to add

if you think about it, the ECU was never designed to have to read boost. and the o2 sensors are not widebands, so other than stoich they don't read very well.
