on the saturday night my girfriends car (eb ford falcon wagon) was broken into in perth city, the quarter window was smashed, the car ransacked, only her house keys were taken. we went to police and filed a report (thats going to help) and went home. Today i lent her my car to go to work in as her window is not repaired as long as she picked me up from work. she did and on the way home she pulled out in front of a truck (again) the truck did not hit us but it was close. the driver flashed his lights and honked the horn. at the next stop lights he got out and stormed up to the car he was pissed off! he was yelling abuse and ordering me to wind my window down(passenger side) i didnt. he didnt take it to well and punched my window, then booted the door, the window didnt break but the door has a dent in it. he then went back to the truck (white prime mover license plate 9ES 410) and drove off. i called the cops and reported it, and i hope to make this bastard pay for the damage!

the answer to that and all questions you may have...

    "Why didn't you defend yourself?"
"They only took the keys ? You should do something about that"
"Why did he get so upset about you mistakenly pulling out in front of him, enough to get out of his truck and chase you down?"

Can all be answered now : Socialist, anti-gun country.

^ +1. The trucker situation would have been easily resolved if you had been carrying a handgun. People tend to chill out and forget why they were so mad at you when u got a gun stuck in their face. My advice, buy a gun, take a safety course, and practice with it til you know how to use it safely. guns are tools, they are only dangerous if the operator is a tool himself.

Or, the trucker (as they commonly do) would have a gun, and you get into a gunfight, instead of just getting a dent in your door. My life > intimidating a trucker

IMO you pussies, who just sit there and allow people to intimidate you and kick in ur door panels are the reason these assholes do it in the first place, cuz they know they'll get away with it. If that trucker thought for 1 second that you were carrying a weapon, he would have let it go and just kept driving. You have obviously never had a gun pointed at you. I have. I immediately felt sick to my stomach and very nearly shit my pants. Nobody acts like a hardass when their life is in that kind of jeopardy. NOBODY. period. I don't care what you saw in that movie. You wouldn't even have had to point it at him, if he walked up to ur car, looked through the window, and saw you were holding a gun, he would have turned around and got right back in his truck. guaranteed. And if there is someone who i care about with me and some one attacks, you better believe I'd use my gun.
    People i care about>my life

Um...he kicked his car. Its not something you'd shoot someone over. Its something you write down a liscence plate # and go to the police over. We have laws for a reason. Maybe you guys should go start your own little country with no laws and lots of guns and the rest of us can stay here and laugh as you guys kill eachother off.

When did i suggest he shoot the trucker? The point i was making is that guns serve to deter violence when used properly. You sound like another one of those fools who believe that guns by themselves are the problem and that our country would be so much better if they were outlawed. I can't wait til ur a victim of a violent crime, maybe that will pull ur head out of ur ass and make u realize that if u rely on other people to protect u, ur gonna get fucked over. I know that i am better off protecting myself with a gun than a cell phone that dials 911.

the funny thing about situations like this is they will come back to haunt you

if i were the one driving the truck and someone pulled a gun on me and i wasn't armed you can bet i would be paying them a visit in the not so distant future

remember boys and girls, anyone can find anything on the internet these days
if they can get your plate # you should assume they know where you live...

i think the situation was handled well...
    plate # and cops

No no no ... You're looking at it like "this guy was inconvenienced by a lunatic". I look at this as "This guy's life was in real danger, as well as the woman he was with"

This is clear grounds to defend yourself with a firearm.

You only pull a gun when your life is in jeopardy and you plan on using it.

You guys are fucking fools when it comes to intimidation and how to handle the situation.

Guns served their purpose when the common citizen was a part of the community militia, not in 2006. Guns were used as a survival mechanism in those days, a means by which to feed a family - which is still acceptable if that is ones means of livelihood. There's absolutely no reason to be carrying a gun for 99% of the people in the world, other than the fact that its written in the constitution. Yes, written in the constitution, a document that is now hundreds of years obsolete; a document that was written by rebels who started a revolution and overthrew their government, written by people whom would be known as terrorists today. If I wrote in the constitution it should be okay to rape women and put other lives in jeopardy, does that mean that its ethical, fair, or morally responsible to partake in these activities?

Believe what you wish about people being too liberal and trying to disarm the country, but honestly in an idealistic society if everyone were dearmed, there would be a lot less problems. I hate to say it but look at Canada.

If you took the guns out of the criminals hands and out of the commoners hands than there would be one less way for foolish, irrational people to kill themselves. Its sad that one bad apple spoils the bunch but in all honesty, just like driving, I personally feel that owning a gun is a privelege that not everyone can handle. If its used for hunting, fine then it serves it purpose Otherwise, in today's society a gun serves no GOOD purpose, especially not a handgun or assault weapon. The simple fact that someone carries a handgun should make that person suspect for evaluation. That person now has the means, a means of which the majority of the country does not possess, to do bodily harm to a fellow person.

It does not serve its purpose when some dip-dunk like Celerity carries a gun in the city. In that case, its for insecure people with tiny wee-wee's that are scared of the possibilities of being intimidated by confrontation and its their means to solve the problem rather than rationally talking the situation out, running away, or if needbe fighting in a non lethal manner to protect oneself. Instead, some people who are too small, and actually think they're too big to run away, let a conflict escalate to a level thats unwarranted by the use of a gun.

me - off of soapbox now.

i dont know if anyone really read this thread or not, but the girl DID pull out in front of another vehicle. thats enough to make any driver really pissed off. now what the driver did do tho WAS uncalled for when he kicked the door and put a dent in it. that was a no-no.
