building gsr block for boost.. piston ratio. 9.7.1 or lower?

I have in mind manley h beam rods wiseco forged pistons my question is what compression ratio is best for turbo application? Some ppl say not to lower to much and other say i should. Being bored to 81.5mm

What kind of tuning do you have access to? 10:1 isn't bad to boost on- people do it all the time... that's the stock compression ratio for quite a few B series engines.

vitara builds can put people in the 8s. as a dd id keep it stockish if its a power beats id lower

edit: the higher the comp the less boost ull "need"

- power goal
- turbo size
- fuel/tuning capabilities
- cams


all those will effect what to go with for compression. Generally, 9-10 is where you want to be on a b-series with GOOD tuning.
