Nobody said anything about turbo for this particular engine. Even then I think the general consensus is that a GSR tranny would still be faster.

The LS trannies got worse '94+. The LS tranny for drag racing, or quickly accelerating for that matter, is the worst choice, even for a turbo application. Nobody likes long gears, thats why a lot of the DSM people swap out their turbo trannies for N/A trannies, shorter gears
