Cam Gear? Intake Manifold?

Hey Guys I had two quick questions?

1st
If you shave the head on an 87 CRX Si (EW4) How important is it buy an adjustable cam gear? How much could it retard the timing on my motor?

2nd
Is there an intake manifold off another Honda or Acura that would be better than the stock intake off the same (EW4)

It will help if you get and cam sproket or you can use a stacked head gasket to be the deck height to spec. but i'm assuming that you got your head milled becasue you want higher compresion so the stack head gasket would defeat you purpose so go with the cam sproket and use a MLS head gasket.
As for the the cam timing chane i've heard the three 3 degrees wors the best but I'm not sure wether to advance the timing or retard it.
