I got this part car that I am stripping, but the junk man wont pick the shell up if it wont roll. My question is if I take the shocks and put the control arms back will the car still be able to roll? If not can I just shove a pipe or something in place of the shocks to give it some lift. I just need to be able to get the shell out of my garage when I am done.

Yar. It'll be bouncy as hell though, so if you are towing it or something, be ready for that.

What kind of car? most hondas have the spring integrated into the strut, so there will be no strut whatsoever. It will roll that way only if the tires arent wedged into the wheel well. Also, if it has McPherson struts, then no, you can't remove the shock because it's integrated into the strut and acts as an upper control arm (kinda).

if you're getting it towed to a junk yard then yes. they can wench it up on a flatbed with out any wheels on the thing. and i'm sure you don't care if the tires are wedged up against the inner fenders if it's going there anyway. i've seen the local flatbeds wench up vehicles that were rolled and none of the four wheels rotate, or have any tires for that matter.

Some of us are still new to building cars and have never had to deal with these situations. So if you dont have anything usefull to add then stay out of my thread.

It shouldn't have to roll. I had three cars picked up and none of them rolled; they just dragged it on a flatbed.

There is a junk man here in town that pays for scrap metal and things. He wont pick it up unless it rolls. I know I can get a wrecker to come and get it with his flat bed.
