Can I put a 96 obd2a dizzy in a 99 obd2b motor

I got 99 obd2b EX motor in a 96 obd2a EX. I am using the 96 engine harness, cabin harness and ecu. I've got no tach and no way to get a tach. Could I put the 96 dizzy with a tach wire on it into the 99 motor? I've heard I can and I've heard I can't. I don't see why it wouldn't work. If anyone knows the answer it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I say you can as both Motors are Obd2 and so is your Car... The dizzy should bolt right up to the motor and run just as the other one did. I don't see any real problems with the simple swap. Changing a dizzy is changing a dizzy haha I say go for it
