Since the cars are dead, and I've lost interest all together...they are up for sale. check the parts thread. Last week, the wife's doctor said she needs more exercise, like walking, biking, running...anything to get her legs strengthened up, like walking around a mall.... so I took her to the mall.:p We walked into Dick's to look at maybe a stationary bike for her, but we never made it to that area. The canoe's and kayaks snagged our attention. So we thought about it, and we have a shit load of ponds around, so why not get a canoe. So after looking at their selection, we went home and brought them up online to shop around.

Then I spotted it...the perfect thing. Perfect for the wife, me , and the dog. Pelican Splash Pedal Boat - Dick's Sporting Goods

So I was chatting with the wife...and she wants it. But it's going to take about 4 weeks to get to use...they are all sold out in CT.:( And I accidently sent the link to the guy thats snagging the yellow Z from me,..he asked WTF..so I explain it to him...and he said he'll get it for us, and I'll toss in some other parts for the shipping. He can't get it for 2 weeks...and then it will still have to wait for shipping. So I'm in no hurry.

Then the wife starts looking at canoe's...she's determined to get one...mainly I think she wants me to power it, and lose a little bit of the beer belly I have gotten lately. And the toy on her Outback will be like rice for rich people with Outbacks with canoes and kayaks ontop of them. So she's searching craigslist and everywhere, we found one close..but it was used, and still expensive. And she decided to just get a new one.

She's pretty much set on the Mad River Adventure 14' in red. :)

Adventure 14 Canoe - Mad River Canoe

And I've been to about 3 shops already looking for one. One place said they can get one in a week, but I'm going up to a few more shops tomorrow to look around.

Going to hit this place tomorrow...they have a try before buy deal on some of the canoes. Collinsville Canoe & Kayak

Now, is having a beer in a canoe illegal?

Yea, the only thing your legs do in a canoe is get sun burnt. As far as beer, I've done it on canoe river rapid trips, but not sure if it's illegal.

I have other activities that have me barely walking after... no wait, that's her. I guess a pedal boat could do it for me though.

If you and your wife would sleep around more often you'd already have a pair of kayaks.

That place in Collinsville is very well known. I rented a kayak there (let the flaming begin on this one) If you have time while in the area go up to the tubing on the farmington river place. I heard there is a place, I think in Columbia that sells canoes also.

you should rent a canoe for a couple hours and see how you like it before you get one
14' is a pretty big canoe, and not sure on weights but that seems on the heavy side.
    here's a 13'6" only 57 lbs
Pelican Navigator Canoe - Assembled - Dick's Sporting Goods

you could also consider an aluminum row boat, it'll be a better workout

Thanks for the tip. We went to Collinsville today, spent an hour on the water in a 14" normal canoe, and the wife loved it...she's hooked. Got most of my question taken car of by a cool dude there that helped us out a lot. We talked about the pedal boat...and he said it's crap. He then showed me a pedal canoe...and I event want it...single person...something for me to fish with, while the wife and her friend goes and padels off.

Hobie Kayaks - Mirage Outback SUV

I can snag an 2006 model for about $1100...:)
Somebody buy some of my wheels... ;)

They didn't have the canoe the wife wanted, so we went up to Satan's Kingdom, they didn't have any, and on the way home, found another Canoe shop...they didn't have one...and then we went to a different Dick's...they didn't have one.

Tomorrow he go hit REI in West Hartford...and hopefully they have what the wife wants.

I can already see this is going to be an expensive hobby:ph34r:

That little flipper drive thing has got to be one of the gayest things I've ever seen. Sure it probably works, but it just looks silly.

It's not illegal in missouri to drink in a canoe, just as long as it doesn't have a motor i think you'll be fine. It may be different from state to state, but we get trashed on float trips all the time here.
