ok i have a fully built h22a4 and when the car is building boost, well as soon as the guage says 0psi the car bogs down but when it is in the -10 -20 or any where before the guage says 0 car runs good then as soon as it it 0-5psi the car just bogs down really really bad then as soon as i hit anything above 5psi car pulls hard and runs great up to like around 15psi or so then i here this crackling sound from the motor i dont't think it is detnation because my a/f ratio guage says am on the rich side.so just to be sure i add more fuel in the upper rpm by 4% and the car run like shit turbo spools like crazy but car don't even pull when i add more fuel.so if anybody had this problem before what can i do to get the car to run right?
Thanks.

I had the same problem when I made my first basemap except it happend at any positive pressure. My problem was that i forgot to set the ignition table for boost and anything above 0psi would make my ignition fire at 6 degrees after top dead center. But that is weird that it does ok from 5-15 psi though. Have you looked at the ignition timing for 0-5 psi?

well i have the msd digital 6 plus with ignition retard activated by a 12v switch
and the way we have it hooked up is at full throttle it retards the ignition by 4 degrees.but even at half throttle it does the same thing.oh i forgot to mention
when it bogs it does that at exactly 4000 rpms then by around 5500 or so the car instantly starts to pull then when i hit around 15psi thats when that crackling noise starts.

What fuel management are you using?

I agree. And That turbo with that much boost you should have all ready had a stand alone fuel management. Its amazing how many people try and try to skimp on there management. Im sure you have heard but guess what........... your gonna hear it again hondata or if you still wanna skimp uberdata

Ha my memeber numbers higher then your post count B :p

you don't use a missing link with the hack....
[post=405694]Quoted post[/post]

I wouldn't run the setup so I wont defend it, but i've seen it done before.

where can i find a aem system for a really good price?

H-T Classifieds? If you are going for the stuff taht requires $, you really can't talk the dollar amounts down. The hondata basic hardware costs less than your VAFC.

but could you?

all a vafc does is modify the map signal, so if you put a missing link in there that bypasses the map, you defeat the vafc.

there's 2 ways to run the vafc.

Normal mode:
standard injectors, fmu, missing link, vafc set to add a little bit of fuel up top/in boost

Hack:
large injectors, no missing link, vafc set to negatives to tune down the large injectors off boost, and gradually working its way to 0 up top/in boost to use the full injector's fueling without flodding at idel.

not excactly... whehter you bypass the map or not with the missing link, the vafc will still send the ecu its setting that you manually set it to.
