The target car I want to purchase is a 1993 Civic Si that has not been modded (Oh, the long months it will take me in searching).

I picked up the local AutoTrader the other day and was just flipping through to find out the kind of prices I would be looking at.

I found a majority of the mileage on the cars (EG Si) to have 175K+.

Now my questions to you guys is would it be possible to turbo the engine with that much mileage safely?

I'm planning to custom turbo the car using DSM injectors and UberData for my engine management and push 200whp.

I am later planning to beef up the bottom end and pushing close to 280~300whp.

Would it be safe for engine to turbo it or should I go out and install a Rebuilt Engine and turbo that? Which one would save me in the long run?

175k just seems like a little too high I don't think you would want to turbo a car with 175k on it I vote for the rebuilt newer motor.

depends...

i've seen some 170k mile motors run better than some 30k motors.

its all in how it was maintained.

anyone can claim the motor was rebuilt...

do a compression test for starters...

and you can always opt for the rebuild AFTER turbo'ing it and blwoing it up..
