Carbon fiber is weak, and heavy.

    When compared to this....

    Carbon Fiber is dangerous. The fibers are smaller, and likewise stronger than Fiberglass. And it cuts the shit out of your lungs. It's a horrible condition to go through, and if you should be hospitalized with the condition your chances of survival aren't great. Not that you would want to survive.

    But this is totally better. Say goodbye to Carbon Fiber, Suckas.

    Yeah, Spider Silk is incredibly strong and tough. The problem is that you can't get enough or a thick enough thread to do so.

    I remember watching Ripley's Believe it or Not and this guy made a bear suit that was impervious and nearly indestructable. One of the components he used to make it was Spider Silk.

    He said that if he collected 12 (I think) spider webs, that it wouldn't even fill a thimble.

    Lack of quantity.
