Dont know that I would trust such an integral part of the motor to a piece of carbon fiber. Dont get me wrong, Carbon fiber is nice, but I (in my own opinion) think thats a bit much...

then it wouldn't be carbon fiber...

there is a company that I know was making them for B-Series but I can't find a link. I'm sure they made D-Series as well.

There are such things as carbon fiber wheels that are damn strong. so i dont see why a valve cover wouldnt be as well built...

It might be a bit difficult to ground it, being that it wouldn't be made of metal...

not like you NEED that ground anyway. my ground on the VC is on the bolt holding the VC down, and not the VC itself. im really curious to the point of that ground in the first place. it doesnt do anything.

but on topic, the VC made out of CF seems pretty pointless.

Um exactly what does the VC do that makes it such a intergral part of the engine. Its a barrier to keep the oil in the head and aids with pressure for the PCV system. Carbon fiber is used in much more important areas then a valve cover, weather it be suspension componets in F1 cars, bike frames and wheel sets (forces on a road bike can be stagering) They make intake manifolds out of CF because if you make the mold and process correct, you end up with a completely identical part from one to another where casting you'll always get flaws. With the valve cover, strength isn't really a big issue as other then vibrationtions. However, other then for the bling factor there really isn't any benifits. You'll reduce maybe 2-3 lbs for a lot of money that can be spent elsewhere in areas that matter more.

asmallsol, I believe I worded my post incorrectly....But, you did answer your own question. You have to have a valve cover to complete the motor...that’s why it is integral. On the other hand, let me rephrase my prior post.

I don’t know that I would waste the money on a carbon fiber valve cover. In order to find a valve cover that I would trust to be molded correctly, I think you would have to pay a premium.. With that being said, I'm sure you can find a company that makes them for a cheaper price, (this is where my theory of trust comes to play) but who knows what type of quality you are going to get. It's just like buying a carbon fiber hood. You can spend $250 on a hood that will suffice, or you can spend $375 and get one that is actually finished and fits. And again, I do apologize for my vague post previously made in this thread.... :)

your previous post had me going "HUH!?" but this one makes much more sense. I wouldnt even consider a CF valve cover. Just seems like a waste of money. As for the quality, truer words were never spoken. 3 friends all with ek hatches all with carbon fiber hoods. The Carbon Creations and Seibon hoods both look brand new, the Erebuni hood looks like some one pissed on it before shooting the clear coat.

Now that I think about it, it may be just to ground the VC to keep it from accumulating a static charge, and nothing more. I'm not sure though. But yeah, unless you are going for bling factor, there are much easier and cheaper ways of losing 8 ounces off the total weight of your vehicle.
