Watanabe Whore!!!
Rest In Peace
The subaru is still kicking ass getting 28 mpg...but the miles are nearing the 200,000 mark...and the wife wants to get 05/06 or newer Subaru Outback with her money...she's got about $18K's to dump on it. And that leaves me with the old Subby, the CRX, 2 Z's, and a civic shell that I plan to junk this week. The CRX is built...and almost road ready...but it's giving me headaches that I don't have time to deal with. SO it's going up for sale. :( The suby will go up for sale as well. :( And the fleet will dwindle down to just a new Subaru outback, and 2 old Z's.

Here's the kicker....

The wife says if I get rid of the civic, the CRX, then I can keep the Suby and do a swap on it and pimp it out...but it's in a condition that I'm not interested in dumping the time or money into it. Also she says if I do get rid of those three cars and the Z's, then she will help me on some payments for something new or newer...of my choice...

But I plan to keep the Z's, and over the winter strip them both down, weld, fab, clean up everything and make one killer Z that will do everything from shows to full drift. But that will leave me carless for a daily driver. So here's my problem...

It will end up as one car to play with...which will help me just to focus on one car, and I want buy a decent truck that will tow the car and a trailer to events, but the truck will also will need to double as a daily driver to get to work. Plus it will help me haul things to the house to still work on the house when I feel like it. And I might as well just buy something new that will last me 5-10 years...so no fords or chev's...even though I get a discount that knocks $2-3000 off of them from work...I still don't want them...and I'm not going to go domestic.

SO I'm thinking of either a Nissan or a Toyota. I want the Honda Ridgeback...but it's just not powerful enough to tow anything but it's decent on gas and usability. If I can keep it under $20K's then I can afford it...over that..then I'll have to beg the wife for help...and that would mean to sacrifice one Z at least right when I buy the truck.

Or the other option is to just sell everything off...pimp the new outback on bad days to get to work, and have the wife help me on buying a toy that will not need to be trailered to events and will still be able to be economical and usable for daily driving duty to get to work....I thought about a 350Z...but I sat in one last week-end and I wasn't too impressed. But something in that ball park.

I'm, also thinking of just getting a cheap truck, keep the crx and the Datsun's, and just dump more money into them...but they still wont end up into anything worth while at that rate. But I'll have to fight off the wife for space in the garage...because if she buys the new Subaru...she expects it to be parked in the garage.

And I'll need to buy a decent trailer.:(

But I also would love to just build up a 69 Datsun 2000 with an SR20DET, for autocross and drifting...and pick up a late 90's Subaru Legacy GT, and swap in some power for DD and shows...but I'll still need a truck for the roadster, and the Z's will not be needed...

Tooo many damn wants, needs, and opportunities. I'm finally making decent money to afford the cars that I've dreamed about or wanted...or I have them already but I'm tired of them and want to move on to other projects. OR have I finally grown up....

This is sooo tempting...but I'm not happy witht the pics, or the miles... eBay Motors: Toyota : Tacoma (item 220144413432 end time Sep-03-07 19:50:29 PDT)

Shell: 1987 Honda CRX Si

Front end damage, but repaired and somewhat strait. Not a good show car, but it will be light enough and have enough grip to be competitive in professional motorsports. Rust content on the entire car is only a few dime sized spots on the drivers side rear wheel well, repaired once, but the bubbles are coming back. The sunroof was removed and a cover plate of sheet metal was riveted to the roof, but later removed and a mint rust free sunroof panel installed, the drilled out holes were only filled and smoothed with bondo, then painted over...but that cheap spray paint only lasted 3 years in the sun and needs a fresh coat of paint. The body needs a paint job due to the cracking of the spray paint used....if you decide you need a fresh paint to bling. The doors were mint, but were traded for an engine a few years ago. I have fresh doors that need to be cleaned, and remounted to the body partially attached now. All the windows on the car is mint. The front windshield was replaced back in 2000 due to the accident the car endured. And was finished off when the hood latch failed and slapped the window. Fresh hood on the car, and a spare hood that can be cut up or modified for any use will go with the car. I also have a spare hatch with good glass, and the hatch on the car is mint. The signature CRX Si wing has been removed, but will also go with the car. On Redpepperracing.com, the Mugen Carbon Fiber reproduction wing can be bought from a member on there, and it is hot. The spare hatch still has the wing with it. The rear hatch struts were bought new, and they pop up the hatch fast and hold it. I also have 2 spare struts on the spare hatch as well. I have fresh lower door skins for the car in a box, and they will need to be painted if you paint the car. I also have a full set of door/hatch/ingnition switch and keys for the car somewhere., and whats on the car as well, but the doors will need a different key, which I have somewhere in the garage. I have a cabinet of spare tail-lights, head lights, and corner lights, mirrors, c-pillar covers and other various parts that I have collected over the years. The real kicker is a rare 1st gen CRX Mugen Pro rear garnish that I found in Japan, I had one fellow request that I buy it for him for his car, but my wife was unavailable to bid on it, and then a few months later another one came up for auction...and we got it, but it wasn't cheap...and I've been hording it ever since...because I was eventually was going to make this CRX the hottest thing since sex was invented. I also have a spare front and rear bumper covers that could use some work, as well as the ones on the car...the car was raced many tines, and used for many years, so they show their age. I have about 3 steering wheels for this car, 2 stock steering wheels, and a super mint Mugen steering wheel that also was a high dollar item, I paid more for that steering wheel than I paid for my apartments rent. And it is very well worth it. I also have a late 1980's Mugen shift knob in the car, it was also just a lucky find...and its something sweet to fondle when a female passenger is not available. The seats are stock seats, but re-padded for a stiff support on the drivers side The car will also come with a plethera of interior parts, including door panels, fresh carpet(installed), and rear spare tire covers. One was cut to accept some speakers, and the carpet was also trimmed to allow sound to pass thru it. I also have the rare rear speaker brackets, painted red, and some decent speakers in them...I can't remember if they were Pioneers or Kenwoods, but sound great. and the rear shock tower covers with the speaker grills already on them...although they do need to be cleaned up, and sprayed with some nice paint. The interior can be immaculate if some time was spent on it, or it can be stripped out and parted out if your building a race car..your choice...all the parts will be sold with the car. All the plastic body panels are fresh or new The passenger side front fender was recently cracked, but repairable, and even the "H" emblems are new from Honda in Japan.

The Powerplant:

1987 1.5L D15A3 Engine, freshly rebuilt and installed. Spare engine with rod knock also included. 2 Turbo's included, one welded on a manifold, and another one that is mint and a spare mint manifold to weld it to, or to fabricate a bolt on plate. Pre-plumbed for the turbo, I just never got around to fully hooking it up. The fresh engine is dripping oil, from where it is plumbed up to. Right now there is an idling issue, and I don't have the time to play with it anymore. It does run, and sounds mean and peppy in it's current N/A state. I was wanting to break the motor in before I put the turbo on... The head has been fully reworked with fresh valves, new seal, 5 layer metal head gasket, Was ported and polished a tad to match the intake runners, and I smoothed out the exhaust ports. Larger fuel injectors from an Integra, and I fabbed up a FPR to make them very tunable. Other things like a pilar gage pod, a boost gage, turbo timer, are also installed. A new half radiator is installed, and I needed to install the new flat electric fan...just never got to it.

The transmission:

Stock in all aspects, except a rebuilt many times....I finished rebuilding it for the fourth time this last winter, and it's clean and should shift like butter. But while installing it, I think one of the axle seals tore...so it's leaking a bit. Fresher lower miled gears from another trany was installed, and it also has the Phantom Grip LSD in there that does work perfect for this car...I've never had any problems with it. I run Mobil 1 full synthetic ATF in it.

Footwork:

Ohhh boy...this car is a gripper. Nothing but sticking to corners and hugging the road. First the car has mounted on it the rare Mugen CF-48's 13x5.5 (11 lbs), black centers, and polished lip...slightly weathered, but will clean up great for a show. I have the Aerodisks for them, along with the hardware to mount them on, but I don't have any center caps for them. They have Advan A005 180/50/r13 (10 lbs each)tires on them...but slightly old, but should last a few events for autocross. 21 pounds per tire and wheel, perfect for autocross...light and grippy. And two new Hoosiers to replace them when you do chord these tires. I will also toss in some Watanabe RS-8's 14x6.5, needs cleaned up and a few dings burnished out of the lips, but appear round and strait. I started to clean them up, but got caught up in some other time consuming project. Both sets of rims are era correct for the car and are super rare to find, and are both from Japan. They killed my wallet to get. And on to the suspension. 4 brand new Tokico Illumina 5 way adjustable shocks, rear coil over's, 450 lb springs in the rear, and the stock torsion tube in the fronts. I installed all new poli bushings on car, and made some motor mounts...so this car is not set up for any type of comfort.

I still got to add stuff to it...:D

 For condensing the cars.

But for trucks, a Tacoma won't really have the balls to pull a car and gear for drift/autox. Ideally, find a used T100, which could bear the payload - but it still has a V6. You'll either need to go to a newer 98+ Tundra or something American to pull what you'll want to bring.

Believe me, Chris has told me the stories. You'll need a 1/2 ton AT LEAST.

why not get a Toyota 4x4 T1000/Tundra fullsize pickup? great power to tow your car to a show/race event, very rugid and durable, Toyota quality and not to mention a great looking truck. im sure they cost quite a bit, but that would be your best bet since it would be able to do everything you want it to. Toyota T1000/Tundra gets a big  from me!!

You'll never get $5000 for that car.

Part it out.

The blurb says it all . Doors:0 "Sure, why not" Paint: "It's there" Runs : "Define 'Run'"

I mean come on. get real. I can't get any cash for my 87.

the 3rd G's floor is to the point that you can see the road by your left foot near the door...it's the same as you saw it last time. Except there is a person here that wanted the wire harness, and it's in the process of being taken out...but for a race shell..the 3rd Gen would be worth the gas to come get it. If you have all the stuff to slap onto it from another car...hell...it still has the Tokico Blues and the Advan A048's on some steelies....

$5,000,000.00 learn to read you yuppie.:D

crap

I have a race shell...I want a nice shell to go along with it for my "nice" stuff

your nice stuff, and the nice stuff I have would make it worth it to you to find me a decent truck....;)

You have to flip your fingers around when you say shit like that. Also, putting Eric in front of a spinning spiral may help to.

toyota, nissan, that can tow an old Z abd trailer, good gas mpgs and low miles.

i've seen a Mits. Mighty max mini truck hauling a full size boat no problem.. i think you'd be ok with whatever you get..

we've also seen the Le car towing a camper up a hill by some bikers.... and we all saw the end of that video :D

You can take my truck :)

05 Quad Cab Dakota - V8, it'll tow what you want and already has the towing package included. Just under 20k on the odometer and it was the last year that came with the 7yr/100k mile warranty so you have another 5 years+80k on the warranty. 4x4, sport package, tonneau cover, sliding rear window, good gas mileage. Power, blah, blah, blah.

Hit me up on PM if you're interested about price :)
