Cat location on an86 CRX Si

When I bought my 86 it had a full exhaust on it to include a cat roughly half way back the car and a coffee can muffler. I called around to local shops today to get qoutes to have it replaced with several different prices. I was told by one that the reason the other ones were so high was because on an 86 CRX Si the cat is in the exhaust manifold however they were adding an additional cat to the price. My ? is, was this guy telling the truth and it is in the manifold or do I need a seperate cat?

not true - the carbed models (DX and HF) had what is called a close coupled cat which bolts directly to the exhaust manifold - the Si had the cat back in the center of the car - this is the Si exhaust: (http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=MFL&MfrPartNumber=22634&PartType=145&PTSet=A)
