I just ordered a jdm dohc ZC swap for my eg hatch and i have to make custom axles to make it work. The inputs on the transmission and half shaft are different than a usdm tranny so i have to put jdm zc inner axle ends(can purchase through ebay) on usdm axles. I have been reading through my chilton manual and it doesnt seem to be that discriptive on the inner cv joints removal/installation. All i need to do is change the inner cv joint, is this hard to do?

Easy stuff. Hardest part will be getting the old one off. Just be rough with it, that lil snap-ring will give up sooner or later. After that, its a breeze.

You'll also want to change those inner boots while you are there. Its no extra work and the boots are usually only around $10-15 each and come with the clamps and grease.. Which you are going to need anyway.
