Nah...it's not a wearing in kinda sound...if it was, both sides would be making it. It's only on the side with the new caliper.

What do you mean by "scratching the sides of the pads down"?
 
dust sheild

Check the dust shield on whatever wheel is making the noise. It's the piece of metal behind the rotor, it probably got tweeked a little and is now hitting the rotor causing it to squeal, it's happened to me a couple of times. Hope that works.

i would hope after a year and a half his breaks aren't still squealing
 
theres a hand pump i bought from an autoparts store that allows me to bleed the brakes by myself ... cause my friends are loosers ... just siting in the wheel hub with the pump attached to the nipple , turn it to open the nipple and then pump away till you get clear fluid ...
