THe check engine is on in a friend of mines car. It isnt flashing a code it just stays on. problem is you can fill up the gas tank and after 33 miles you only have a 1/4 left. I dont understand what would cause that except for leak but then again the engine light wouldnt come on. Car has to be running rich as hell to burn that much fuel that quick. any advice? Other then hat car runs fine.

maybe bad fuel gauge? if you were burning that much gas you would have it running out your exhaust as with smoke going everywhere

go fill your tank up drive it 30+ miles so its back down to 1/4 tank then fill it back up again and watch how many gallons it takes

if its a 2000 model and its burning that much gas or even the problem with a bad gauge I would go back to the dealer and have them fix it it should be covered
