What's the difference between the b18a1 and b18b1?

Well....
B18A1:
'90-93 Integra LS, RS, & GS
'90-'92 had 130 hp with the GS carrying more torque
the engine was reworked in '92 (ta dah the B18B1) and produced 142hp.

B18B1:
'92-'99 Integra LS, RS, GS

There you have it B)

why does the b18b1 produce more torque than the b18a1? will the torque be the same if both of the engine had the same head? which one of these engine would be the best choice for an all motor lsvtec?

Your wrong

90-91 B18a1's-------130/121
92-93 b18a1's-------140/121
94-01 b18b1's-------142/127

90-91 were obd0, 92-95 were obd1, 96-2000 were obd2A, 2000-2001 were obd2b.

The differences were in pistons and slightly different cams (correct me if im wrong)

Theres too many possiblities, if you change the compression ratio, the torque/HP will be different. If you overbore, they will be different.

Stock bottem end with a b16 head and b18b1 block will give you more torque than a b18a1.
