Just wondering why my intake runners on the furthest sides of the motor were gummed up worse than the rest?

What I mean is this:

The runners (and ports in the head) in the middle of the motor were very clean (cylinders 2 and 3). But the first runner/port on the #1 cyl and the last runner/port on the #4 cyl were gummed up... Just curious why this happened?

dirt is easier to get at the sides than the middle ones. plus #3 is the hottest cyl due to firing order and placement. 2 & 3 can possibly burn more crap due to their heat than the outside ones.

also, could be early signs that your valve seals need to be replaced soon.

run a leakdown test too, see what kind of variance comes up.
