it doesnt throw a check engine light because it doesnt affect the regular operation of the car.
but when you plug in a scan tool it tells you there is an error, i think a class c code
    d16y7 and a stock ecu

best way is to just unplug the ecu fuse, to reset the ecu,

If you use an obd1 ecu with jumper harness it won't even look for that second o2 sensor because obd1 cars didn't have one and you won't have anything to worry about.

That's true, but he's trying to prepare for an inspection. In pretty much all cases a backwards OBD conversion is going to result in a failed inspection.

Anyway, to the OP: do you still have the cat? If you do, then just throw it back on for the inspection. If not, you could get an O2 simulator for that sensor. I don't know how detailed your inspections are, like if they would notice something like that.

Look for some cheap place, ask around. There's a guy in my town all he does is make sure all your lights work, horn, test drive and test the brakes and you're good to go. And mirrors.

What if you snipped the CEL wire for inspection, then splice it back together after?

in ny the computer has to be plugged into a machine that sends the data back to albany. it will say i dont have a cat, and i will fail inspection that simple. but i know there is a way if you unplug the battery for a certain time it will reset the ecu and the codes r cleared for a while.

Don't they run the car on a rolling road and check the emissions? If they do it will fail anyway because YOU DON"T HAVE A CAT. The best solution here is to put one on your car. It will fix your problem and you will be environmentally friendly.

if you throw a code your check engine light WILL come on. unless there is no bulb or its burned out. there is a jumper harness with two wires by the ecu jump those to erase and check codes without the port.
