alright.. me and a buddy changed his suspension today and its got a clunking noise in front when he hits any big/medium bumps.. its a 95 Civic EX and we put KYB GR-2s w/ my old Tenzo springs (1-1.3" drop).. we tightened everything up and it all feels secure... any thoughts of what this could be..

Could it be the upper control arm 'bottoming out'?
Actually hitting the top of the inner fender wall?

nope.. i do remember when he assembled the spring/shock he took out the metal sleeve thats on rubber part of the top hat and put a shorter one in there.. we're both thinking thats what it is because everything else should be correct..

gonna take it to his dads shop this weekend and put it on the rack.. its an east coast car so bolts through the lcas are frozen in there.. we hit it with 3 different impact wrenches and nothing.. he's buying new hardware from Honda today and using the lcas i just took off my car, that way we can just drop the whole thing.. strut attached to the lca still

Assuming you already tried the WD40 & BFW (big f*%kin' wrench) combo on those bolts...
My experience w/ hardware from the dealership is that in the time it takes for them to get what I want I can get the old stuff to work w/ a little love.

Then again, I have the pleasure of owning a CA car...

How lame am I that all I hear in my head is Mr. Dundee 'That's not a wrench...'

Anyway, 4ft should do the trick...but then again, until you shear the bolts you aren't really trying are you?

I know. That's why ordering stuff from Honda is my absolute last resort. If there's a junkyard w/in an hour of you, it'd be cheaper to hit them up. Hell, pocket'em and they're free....

Make sure the hardware stack on the top hats is correct- if they're not in the right order, everything will be loose and you'll go clunk.

Damn, beat me to it as usual. :p

I did the springs and shocks on my friend's accord and the same thing happened. The order of the hardware is the culprit I'd assume.
