code 9s........help

I have a 1990 prelude 2.0si with a 5speed all stock. I was thinking about selling it because I just dont drive it enough to keep it . Now as soon as I said that........ the check engine light came on and stays on.
when I read the code it comes up code 9 . so I replaced the distributor and reset the ecu the light........ still comes on so I figured I got a bad dist/ so I replaced it again and reset the ecu and you guessed it its ......still on. So do I have a bad ecu?
can they throw code 9s? I cant believe all 3 of the dist/ have bad #1 cylinder position sensors.
any Ideas. I belive the stock ecu is a pk2 any help would be greatful. have a Blessed one. Frank

i have a 92 SI with an h22a swap. i've thrown code 9 6 times, replaced my distributor 8 times now in a year, and you guessed it, code #9 still comes up every once in awhile, so i know the boat your in buddy, it could be the ECU but my case was bad wiring, and a check engine light with a mind of its own, so i'd say check your wiring and try the ecu, they should fix your problem. let me know if this helped you bud
