OK, I MIGHT be retarded but do i need to install it into any particular directory?

Codec- or a term used to describe "Code and Decode" is what allows your machine to read a video format.

There's lots out there- windows media, divx, ace, and 1000s of others.

http://download.technet.cz/sw_mp3soft/klcodec205f.exe ( 8 MB) is a good codec PAK. theres just about everything in there you need to see.

I personally didn't download that exe- so I claim no warranty to the results of your system by installing said codec pak.
make sure you have virus scanners up. But, its on a Checz technet site- so i imagine its legit.

yea, i know about the sticky
i tried this one and it didn;t seem to work for me, but i don;t really know much about codecs so i may have done it wrong
your post is from feb of 2004 too so i thought there was something new

eh, at least i posted my question in the right forum...
mad hate-o-raid

so if you get codecs, do you need to run the media player classis? or should the codecs work with whatever media player you usually use??
