Hi Guys,

I'm new to this forum!

My first question for all of you:

Just about all hondas rust out in the rear quarter fender area, has anyone investigated or come up with a theory why this happens?

Thanks,

Harvey

probably because that is where most of the dirt and grime sits from the tires.

plus where the bumper mounts is a great place for dirt to get into and scratch off the paint with vibrations and daily driving.

it pays to keep your car clean.

The main reason is because there are drain holes that go from the roof/hatch area to behind the wheel well that tend to get plugged up with gunk and therefore trap water and generate rust. If honda were smart, they would have painted both sides of the sheet metal they used in the car.

in the construction of the cars they fold two pieces together at this point. also they drain holes plus piss poor seam sealing

well most of them i have seen its from the bumper rubbing and the rubber piece that is in the inside lip of the wheelwell that causes this rust
