well i was looking around honda-tech and saw a thread about compression for someone else's 96 gsr.

his gsr got like 210 on all cylinders

when i got mine tested it was like 170 ~172 for all cylinders. what does this mean? what should it be if the motor is in perfect condition? what causes this? what fixes it? piston rings? would there be a significant difference if i were to fix it? should i fix this? etc.

mine is a 96 gsr with 46k miles on it. info on this is appreciated

It's Saturday and today is the CT BBQ. You probably won't hear anything until tomorrow or Monday.

are they like that all across the board?? around 170??

you want them to all be within like 10% of each other or so...

my friends gsr had 190 across all 4 cyl. when we did it yesterday

Last I checked my old motor I was getting 220 across. Or was that my 4g63, nah couldn't be that motor was 170ish a cross.......sorry,

Milan

ya it was all across for all 4 cyl's. 170-172 on all 4. so what does this mean? i have seen people get above 200 and around 170 like me.

you are ok, just as pills said, if the numbers are within 10% of each other, you're all good.
