hey, i just hooked up my dsl yesturday. I have a Speedstream modem and a D-link DI-614+ router. I hooked it all up and it all works but like every 10 mins it disconnects and reconnects. The router is set up on Dynamic which was the same as my cable. My friend who lives across the street uses the same modem but a different router uses PPOPE. I tried using that setting but it doesnt work. Or am i supposed to let it sit for like more then 5 mins to get working? cuz i put it on PPOPE but it didnt work after like 5mins so i jsut put it back on dynamic. Anyone know what the problem is?

you should be using PPPoE with DSL.

make sure your username and password are correct on the router.

Sigh... PPPoE. Can we say 'Recursive'?

I hate PPPoE, but it's what DSL uses.

Anyway, are you using wireless on that thing? My 514 did that for a while, so I goofed around with the wireless settings. Changed the channel, dropped the transmit power. Eventually I found a setting that made it happy.

More details would be helpful to solve yer prob.
