Just saw it on the news last night... He drove off slowly enough that the hose release didn't break... Pulled the whole pump down, dragged it, and started a fire.

I've not tighted the cap down a few times and the CEL came on, but I've never left the cap at the gas station. It took two full days before the light came on this time.
 
Thives? That was Monday night... whoever was on duty probably just threw it away when the cleaned up the pump area.
