Coolant line problem

hi all. we put a zc 1.6 in my buddies 89 dx hatch. finished a while ago and it runs fine. but theres this one hose we dont know where it goes.

its located on the driver's side of that big coolant bypass that runs from the thermo. housing to the other side of block. the pass. side hose goes to intake mani. but at the drivers side i dont know where that hose goes.

any help would be appreciated. thanks

This hose comes off the solid coolant pipe at the back of the block next to the water pump???? If so, this hose is not needed, so just cap it off. I did a ZC swap into an 88 CRX Si and I couldn't figure it out either, so I capped it off. I believe that this engine was originally a carb model, and that coolant was used somewhere in the carb manifold. Hope this helps.

It usually connects to the Fast Idle control motor... it tells the car when it's warmed up to lower the idle.
