CR vs. boost

What is the difference between running a high CR and low boost, or running a low CR and High boost. What makes the lower CR better for boost?
 
high compression = torque OFF boost (ie, in vacuum), more power per psi, higher EGT's, kills oil faster...

low compression = easier to run an FMU on and not blow up, slower, no power (lag) off boost, less gian per psi, lower egt's..
