So i finally have power again. Lost it sunday around 2ish.

Sunday the 14th, We had something happen here that pretty much never happened in recent history here. The remnants of hurrcane ike over by indianapolis merged with a cold front that was going northeast. They converged pretty much right in cincinnati.

This caused a full day of sustained 60 mile per hour winds and wind gusts of 84 miles per hour! Although I wouldn't doubt we got a gust or two faster than that. Long story short, we had winds the equivalent of a category 2 hurricane. It was insane.

The result was a ton of property damage and downed trees. As of monday morning, over 900,000 people were without power. Last I heard there still are 250,000 or so still without power. Unfortunately 3 were killed as a result of fallen trees.

We were lucky to not get rain though. That would have made things alot worse.

I was out in it, and may I say it was intense. It was also really eerie though, considering there was no rain or lightning or anything. Just lots and lots of wind.

The first couple of pics are from the mall where the wind blew out some interior roof tiles and caused a lamp to fall.
