well basically heres how i painted the hxs..

1.first wash them down take oil ,armor all ,any grease off with simple green, comet, ajax, ect ..basically any grease remover works good..

2. i sanded down with an 800 grit sand paper..i think i works better and paint catches better than 1000

3. i clean it with and auto prep clean up.
basically takes off dust or any other residue i might have left before

4.spray a not so thick coat of primerenough for the paint to catch properly ..

5.start spraying the paint ,first started with light coats then made coats thicker

6.spray a red pearl base clear coat .then just spary a regular coat of clear coat .
make it have that freshly painted car look ..makes rims look legit ..

heres some pics of the finished product

It looks like you did a good job man. I'm only concerned when you have to get them re-balanced and you have to take off the weight off the side you painted. :D
