D-Series L3 tranny

I just found out that I have a L3 tranny. I was told by a shop a week or 2 ago it was an Si tranny. Is there a very big difference? What model does the L3 tranny come from?

All the 4G Civic transmissions are L3. You need to look at the 4 character alphanumeric code on the housing.
