D series OBX intake manifold?

I picked up an OBX intake manifold off a buddy in exchange for a nitch in some serious debt of his, and for some reason I thought I remembered reading somewhere about the OBX IM's not working well with the early si's because of a couple hoses or something that had to do with emissions, and therefore it gave bad emission readings that wouldn't pass. Since I'm in around Pittsburgh area, I have strict emissions and would prefer to keep this car street legal as far as emission and inspection, does anyone know any truth to this?

stay away from them and all the ebay intake manifolds unless you're willing to spend over 200 dollars on the intake manifold is gonna run like crap I'm talking from experience I have bought 1 of these before they do not work at all it its way more trouble then they are worth

It's been 4 years- hopefully he's passed inspection by now.
