d15b jdm in 98ex

this jdm d15 is pretty popular now
will it work in my 98ex (d16y8) as a direct swap?
will i need a harness or ecu?
axles or tranny?
please let me know....my motor is shot!

Why would you swap practically the same hp motor? There is no point unless yours is blown.

D15b = 130hp
D16y8 = 127hp

Just use the money you would have used for the motor and buy some parts for your y8 if you are set on staying with the sohc slamma. If not save alittle more cash for a dohc swap. How is you motor "shot"? It is a 98 right. My 95 z6 that just turned 111000 miles still purrs like a kitten.

IMO you'd do better to just get a direct replacement, or move up to a B.

i'm sure its a direct swap.its a d series for crying out loud. lol just make sure the dizzy,o2 sensors and all that crap are still the same obd as the y8. hope that helped a little
