ok so i got a d16y5 from a friend and it needed rings so he took the rods out and the crank liek a dofus..the question is would it be ok to just put standerd size bearings in it like clevite 77's? or do i have to measure it no matter what?

Best way to do it is to measure it out using Honda's bearing system. There are different colors designating different clearances/tolerances. Do it right the first time, and the engine will last a lot longer.

ok ill try it out but honestly im kinda nervous about doing my bearings:confused: ..would you happen to have the chart to know what size bearings i will need sir?

The chart is in the Helms factory service manual. If you're going to rebuild an engine from the bearings on up, you really should pick one up. There are other important things that you really need to have on hand- torque values, how to set TDC, gasket making etc.
