Hey, I'm at work and can't be on for a long time searching.
Will the cams swap between the 90 civ 1500's and the 1600(a6's) and if so, is there any benefits for doing so?

I know the heads swap but don't know if the cams will. Mine's runnin fine and don't want to swap the head yet.
Just looking for a better performance cam.

    Thanks. E

yea i believe they are as well also

if the d15 you have is dpfi then a more worthwhile option at this point would be to convert to mpfi.

    The timing might change though.

TIMING?? Interesting.. So the 'slot' in the cam end might be different?
Or might the 'pin' in the shaft at a different angle?

I originally got this car to do a B-18 swap and have a quick little 4dr for the kids. Then found a B-20..
But the thing just runs soo well that If just a cam swap and adjustable gear and my SI trans might make it more fun for now. (until the 'commies' run the price of gas up to 8.00/gal)

Thanks for all the input guys..
    E

neither engine has vtec so i wanna say the cam would swap over no problem. just make sure to adjust the valve lash

Possibly the slot in the cam that matches up to the gear- so if you swap the whole cam and gear over, zero degrees on one engine may not match up with where zero is supposed to be on the other. I don't know if that'll be the case with your specific setup, but I know it's an issue with swapping SOHC VTEC cams between the Z6 and Y8 heads- so it does happen with cam swaps between some D series heads. Just something to watch for.

    Thank you sir.
I'm just used to the 'old stuff' where you could swap all sorts of things.
