I read an article in Super Street about cheap horsepower for Honda's. They say you can bolt a D16y8 intake manifold to other D series heads and that you can bolt any B series throttle body on a port matched D series and the combo should be good for about 12 hp.
Well, I have a B series throttle body and picked up a D16y8 intake manifold, pretty cheap.
If anyone has done this or a similar swap, I have some questions and could really use some info.

    - My car is a '93 D15, with an automatic transmission, and NO cruise control (it was cheap).
    - The throttle body is from a '95 B18b, with an automatic transmission and cruise control.
    - The D16y8 intake manifold is from a pre '99, with a manual transmission and cruise control.

Do I use a throttle body gasket for an automatic, or manual?

Will I have any IACV problems?

Am I supposed yo use the D series throttle cable rotor?

Is there anything on either part that i have to change, since I don't have cruise control?

Any help with this, or any other things I should know about this swap, would be greatly appreciated.

Didnt you just post this on D series? No magical 12hp form a throttle body/intake manifold swap, not a stock one anyways.

Yeah, I did. Is that a problem?
I know 12 hp is a lot, but I can dream. lol
Now, do you have any useful info, or did you just want to point out what I already know?
I'd really appreciate some info, if you have it.

I'm just saying, why does it matter if I posted this on another forum? Why not seek knowledge from any source possible.
I know that 12 hp seems a lil much, but any hp is good, isn't it?
If you don't want to help, that's cool, but what good was your first reply?

IF, you're one of those "All Mighty Forum Regulars" that likes to talk trash to and about "Noobs", you'll have to excuse me for having a life, and not spending all my time trying to be a "Forum God".
BUT, if you have knowledge to share and can respect a "noob" for being another Honda lover, just like yourself, I'd love to apologize and start over.
Trust me, I LOVE Honda's and respect any one that can respect me and teach me new things.
So, what do you think.....can we respect each other and come together as car guys?
That's what I'd like to do.

ok you will have to use an auto y8 manifold because the standard is too much of a bitch to modify..
yes you gain hp by using the y8 I.M,,it is the type-r of the dseries..
yes you gain hp by using the bigger Bseries TB,,no its not 12hp like mentioned..but hey you already have everything so why not just use it..i think you have to rig something up and use your original cable..also doesnt matter what the TB gasket is for as long as you get the bseries and port match

Well, the manual IM and auto TB is what I have. No money to buy more. This is my DD and has to be reliable and pass emissions.
So, what mods will I have to make to either?
I'm not scared of a lil work, just don't know what needs to be done.

Excuse me RETARDnight, but I have been searching, this and every other forum that I can find, for this info. I have been working on cars for over 23 years and am not a retard.
I bet you can't find anything DETAILED about using a TB from a Bseries WITH AN AUTOMATIC on an IM from a Dseries with a MANUAL!
    Notice I said DETAILED.
I can find bits and pieces of info and know there are mods, I will have to make, but can not find enough DETAILS to be sure of EVERYTHING that is involved.

BTW, any time you can hitch a ride on a moose, down to Atlanta, we can meet up, in person and have a lil "IQ TEST" face to face, if you're as brave as you are insulting. I understand that you probably have no life, outside of forums and that this is probably your only link to the outside world, and that it's real easy for tough guys, like you, to talk smack over the web and get an ego boost. But, you really should try to hide your lameness, not show it.

So e-thug... U failed to notice that a: u'd probably have to do some legwork to make it fit 100%, b) bigger tb means more air which means more room for gain, c) threatining me in PM and in a thread showing everybody ignorance is frowned upon in all communities. Keep Atlanta to yourself, I'll enjoy Canada thank you. PM me again an I will have u reported. Thanks e-thug.

    Wow! You're so cool!
Yet another reply with no relevance, I see.

    READ!
I've stated that I know it will take work. I'm just not sure what it takes to use the automatic TB on the manual IM. That's what I've researched and can't find. CAN YOU? I bet not.
Of course a bigger TG will see gains. Why else do you think I'm using it? And YES, I know I'll have to port match the IM to the opening in the TB.
Did you figure all that out on your own or bully some noob in to telling you?

I'm sure, showing your ignorance, by stating the obvious, to hide the fact that you have nothing useful to say, is just as frowned upon. You just wasted forum space for absolutely no useful reason.

Funny, how you think it's cool to imply insults to people, in a forum, but call me the "e-thug".

Don't be scared, though. I haven't threatened you, once. Besides, I know it would take forever for you to get your dog drawn sled all the way to Atlanta, for the IQ test.

Enjoy the snow and less good driving weather, my pasty, cold friend. I'll keep Atlanta, with it's year round nice driving weather, scantily clad "Georgia Peaches" and people, unlike you, that have a life outside of forums, their snowed in shack and talking smack to strangers with a keyboard, just to keep their lil fingers warm.

You and your comments are full of fail. If anybody had done it before they would have posted about it. On top of that, a few of the smartest users have already given their opinion, so do what everybody else does and TRY IT THE FUCK OUT! if it doesn't work, then you know ur answer.

Yeah, RoughTard. Great idea. Why seek knowledge, when I can just take a chance of ruining parts and wasting money. I know you're probably still bartering and trading moose pelts, for things you need, but here in the US we use money and you can't just shoot and skin that. I work too hard at my business to waste money, without at least trying to find knowledge first, if I'm not sure.

For those who tried to help...Thanks, guys!
    You, too, 'Beater. LOL!
I've found a guy, with an automatic that is going to swap IM's with me.
    Problem solved.

Wow and that took forum ranting and acting like a child? Fucking POS garbage American, it's fucking losers like you that ruin your country's image to the rest of the world. Why not talk like a nationalistic bigot? Because your president that you re-elected for a second term fucked the country up so bad it's in the worst depression of...ever? Or is it that your inbred redneck forefathers fucked your family tree into blue blood.

Bottom line, you are worthless and are probably worth more to your country as biodegradable mulch than an actual human. GL with your build. Hope you attach a super 'A-town' style wing to your car and crash into a fucking truck. Maybe you'll learn a lesson in manners.

    See what I mean?
I posted that last reply, less then 5 minutes ago and your lifeless, forum dependent ass has already gotten a translator to draw pictures and explain it to you and help you respond.
Hey, at least you'll never have to worry about the economy, huh? Plenty of moose to hunt and you can always make new pretty beads to trade.
I'm sure your dad wishes, every day, that you had just been a blow job, instead of having to waste his moose pelts and beads on trying to educate a mongoloid.
Get your tutor to google it.
I'm so sick of you kids thinking that just because Daddy traded his favorite mule for a car and you mounted the snow plow on it yourself, that you know everything.
Absolutely nothing you have said shows any more than your (careful, big word, here) immaturity. Get off the comp, for once and go get laid. AND, NO, your mom or family dog don't count!
