Both of those engins are good swap choices, the dohc zc would be an easier swap since you wouldn't have to wire up vtec and you could stay obd0. With the y8 you can still stay obd0 but you still need to worry about getting the correct fuel maps and activating vtec. I belive there is more aftermarket support for the y8, and since you already have that one I think you should just build it and then drop it into your car.
