hi any who reads this
i own a 89 concerto exi it has a 16valve 1.6 sohc d16z2 multi point injection motor and 5 speed manual box. the car is tidy , but the engine is flogged out and gutless and very tired. i want to slowly fix it up. i was thinking of anew engine.

iam a newb and dont have much mech knowledge and would apreciate any input

q1. what motors can i put in place of the original, i want something that gos faster maybee a vtec

q2. what will need to be changed to make fit, ie box, exhaust, engine managment engine mounts

Q.3 am i wasting my time and should get a new car

1. Pretty much any D or B series engine
2. Mounts depending on what engine you get, exhaust fits the car, engine management will depend on engine, ECU and tuning level
3. Depends on how you think about it
