D16z6 head question.

So upon taking the valve cover off. I find that the camshaft plate, the one that goes above the rocker arms and has the plungers in it, is broken. On top of that it looks like the guy before me tried to rtv it back together!

My question is, can I replace that plate by itself or do I have to buy a new head? The honda parts store says I have to buy a whole new head but since its not a piece that seems to be precision fit I should be able to just swap it with a piece from another motor.

IIRC the plate is not part of the upper cam cap. If so, swapping from another motor is fine. If it is, just get it line-honed at a machine shop.
