judo boy, what island are you from? i'm from oahu, and i know other friends who got excessive noise/muffler tickets...their tickets were 55 too...maybe different islands, different fines...
 
Mufflers r 55. Sounds isn't suppoused to b 55. They jacked it up cuz too much people blast them. That y I said I guess u got lucky? Read?
