Looks like another server at the datacenter that we share a switch with is getting hammered with a ddos attack tonight.

the guys are working on it, but the site may have some slow periods or even not be accessible while is is being resolved.

It's not attacking us, we're just the innocent bystanders here in the cross fire. I'm trying to get them to move me to a different switch, but that's easier said than done.

sad times. i'd tell you to come to rackspace, but managed has a pretty hefty price tag and you'd have the same possibility with cloud servers.

Especially with how easy it's become. Anonymous' botnet/'Portable Ion Cannon' comes to mind.

I have been getting long page loads for the last couple hours.

Are there issues again? I'm seeing some really slow speeds on Hondaswap but not on any other webpages.

Backups run 1-2 am and can slow the site down when the db lock
s to dump.
