I've got a question thats been burning a hole in my head. Is it possible to change the head on my d16 sohc vtech with the head on a dohc vtech??? Basicly i want my d16 to be a dohc.

Probably not. I think the only "D" series DOHC is the ZC and the head, without machine shop work will not fit the standard USDM type "D" series block. The head bolts at the tranny end of the block are about 1/4" farther out towards the tranny, the other bolts align perfectly.

D16 SOHC block + DOHC ZC head = lots of machine work, still no VTEC, not even worth attempting
D16 SOHC block + DOHC VTEC = no way, no D has DOHC VTEC

Oh, and:

You CAN put a SOHC VTEC head from a D16Z6 or D16Y8 (or a few others) on there though- it's commonly called a "mini-me" setup.
