what is the big difference between a b16a crank and b18a crank. all the specs seem the same.

nope. rods are the same length.

in inches, the stoke is 3.031 vs 3.334

so if i want to put b16a pistons in a b18a block i can use the rods also then if they are the same length (in Theory)

well, lets find out....*whips out his eagle catalog*

well the rods are different. or at least the part numbers are

Rod length 5.394, 1.771 crank pins, .826 piston pin, .935 be width

part numbers are different.

LS part #CRS5394A3D
B16 part #CRS5290H3D

Couldnt tell you want the difference is.

and after checking out zealautowerks.com, they say that the LS rod is 3mms longer than the B16. Someone needs to stop confusing reiko.

3 mm is not that much but it is enough to make a ls rod pop out of a b16a

i dont know why i thought they were the same length. i know that a b18 has a 181mm deck height and the b16 has a 172.5mm deck height. that lil bit of stroke difference cant make up for that 8.5 mm difference.

the LS rods are def longer.
