dimmer switch

hey guys. sorry if this isn't the right place to post this question, but it's a quick one. is there a way to bypass the dimmer for the instrument panel and guage cluster? mine burned out or shorted somewhere, and now, if it's plugged in, the illumination is very dim and the switch itself gets supper supper hot, so, i'm forced to take it out. and a new one costs roughly 80 dollars. it's for an EK. thank you all.

Weird, same thing happened to my 93 civic but mine doesn't get hot.

The dash just doesn't work sometimes, and sometimes it will work oddly enough.

Have you rewired anything prior to this problem?

yes, rewired the radio, but i know i blew the fuse while doing it, after which i replaced it and it was ok, but the dimmer i think got a short in it somehow and now i want to bypass it.
