I was wondering, when I change my distributor to the si one for my mpfi swap if I have to redo my timing or if the ecu does it on its own or if it's just a direct bolt in.

if it's odb2 you shouldnt have to. if its obd1 or obd0, yes, i'd double check your timing. Since you said its an mpfi swap i'd imagine you're using an obd1 engine and you'll need to set the timing.

alright one last question, are the distributor like a one way fit or no? like does it only go in one way or does it even matter?

it fits two ways, but the bolts on the distributor will only line up one way.
