Does this sound right?

I asked a local shop how much they would charge to install pistons in my B18. The motor is currently out of my car. So I asked how much for piston and install of motor. The shop said $1500 if I provide all parts. I think this is expensive! Does this sound right?

To just put them in?!? Just do it yourself. Take a hone up and down each cyclinder , then rent a spring compressor from autozone and pop them in. It's not that hard

That is waayyyy to much. My cousin had his complete block rebuilt for a little less IIRC.
