ok my boy got his hands on one of the d16a1 i think it is and it is dohc and he wanted to know if he can put an d17y8 tranny on it and put it in his 92 civic will that work?

Also, there is no such thing as a DOHC D16A1.

Also, if you're talking about a DOHC B16A, then no, he cant put a D-Series tranny on it.

Also, if you're talking about a SOHC D16Z or something of that sort, yes he can fit that tranny on it, and it will fit in the EG.



Please tell me you were on PCP when you wrote this post.... :blink:

Christ...why didn't you just come out and say ZC????? Sorry dude, the whole DOHC ZC being a D-Series just fucks me right up...... the A1+A3 were DOHC.

but to answer your question, as far as I know, D-series trannies fit D-Series engines. I dont see why not.
